Meera Srinivasan

Dr. Meera Srinivasan earned her Ph.D. at the University of Southern California in 1997 and has taught and done research at several leading American universities, public and private. She earned her Masters in Medical and Psychiatric Social Work at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, India, and later got her Post Graduate in Community Counseling at what is now Canberra University, Canberra, Australia. She has published extensively in academic journals on mental health, women's issues, family welfare, clinical social work, program evaluation and research methodologies. She has also published in non-academic magazines and newsletters on immigrant issues, gender issues, women and leadership matters and social justice.
She has extensive knowledge on American community issues and social problems - past and present. She is a strong advocate for social justice, women's leadership, economic progress and mobility for all, well informed participatory democracy, equal global power for former colonies and greater inclusion of multiculturalism and better standards in our higher educational system.
