The author is an Attorney at Law in Sri Lanka. He has served as an Honorary Legal Consultant on Animal Welfare Legislation to the Law Commission of Sri Lanka and was closely associated with the Law Commission in drafting the Animal Welfare Bill. He has also served as a Director (Research) in the Government Peace Secretariat. He is a regular contributor to newspapers and journals on a variety of topics including Global Buddhism, Animal Rights and Colonialism.
