Using NGOs to coerce nations
by Sandhya Jain on 08 May 2012 27 Comments

Non-Western nations have long known that non-governmental organizations, ostensibly set up to provide humanitarian services to citizens in their respective countries, such as against police or other public authorities, fighting poverty or environmental degradation, are funded by foreign regimes to serve their agendas. They are in that sense a tool of coercive diplomacy, or war by other means.

Some weeks ago, Egypt, frontrunner of the aborted Arab Spring, clamped down on foreign NGOs and refused to license eight US civil groups, including the election-monitoring Carter Centre, prior to the presidential polls. Under Egyptian law, NGOs cannot operate without licences.

American NGOs, called quangos, tend to focus on promoting democracy abroad, an euphemism for electing governments that serve American interests. Last month, the UAE decided to shut down of the offices of an American quango run by the Democratic Party but mainly funded by the US government. Observers said the move was engineered by Riyadh and other capitals that felt the quango was active in their internal affairs, and hence urged the UAE to close it.

Many capitals view quangos as intrusive of national sovereignty. By grooming ‘democracy activists’ – recall the Coloured Revolutions in former Soviet republics – they create the environment for US-desired changes to occur. The decision by UAE and other Gulf countries to curtail the functioning of German and US foundations is likely to usher in a new system whereby entities directly or indirectly funded by foreign governments will be allowed to function only under negotiated agreements and can no longer operate as they please.

The National Endowment for Democracy, closely associated with the Reagan administration, was a conceived as a tool of US foreign policy by its founder Allen Weinstein, a former professor, Washington Post writer, and member of the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a neoconservative think tank whose membership included Henry Kissinger and Zbigniew Brzezinski. NED’s first director Carl Gershman was candid that it was a front for the CIA. From its inception in 1983, NED’s annual funds are approved by the US Congress as part of the United States Information Agency budget. Its activities include funding anti-left and anti-labour movements; meddling in elections in Venezuela and Haiti; and creating instability in countries resisting Imperial America.

Freedom House, set up in 1941 as a pro-democracy and pro-human rights organization, is engaged with the Project for the New American Century, and much of the warmongering in Washington. The Bush administration used it to support its ‘War on Terror’. The US government provides 66% of its funding via USAID, the State Department, and the NED. Freedom House leapt into the Arab Spring, training and financing civil society groups and individuals, including the April 6 Youth Movement in Egypt, the Bahrain Center for Human Rights, and grassroots activists in Yemen.

The Bush administration also compelled NGOs to serve its imperial agenda. In 2003, USAID Administrator Andrew Natsios said the NGO-USAID link helped the Karzai regime to survive, but Afghans did not appreciate this. In Iraq, he wanted NGO work there to show a connection with US policy. It is difficult to be more explicit.

By far the most important tool of empire is Amnesty International. Its current Executive Director, Suzanne Nossel, was previously Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Organizations at the US State Department. She is credited with coining the term ‘smart power’ to achieve US goals by recruiting others to work for them, as in Libya, where Washington used the UN to engage in ‘humanitarian intervention.’

Amnesty actively joined the propaganda war against Syria. The author of a 2011 report on custody deaths in that country confessed in an interview that Amnesty had not been allowed to enter Syria at the time, so research for the report was done mainly from London, neighboring countries and other sources. In other words, unverified information.

In India, despite decades of unhappiness with Western NGOs, the Union Government decided to openly confront them only when it felt aggrieved over the stalling of its Rs. 15,000 crore Kudankulam nuclear power project in Tamil Nadu, and protests over genetically modified crops. Indian law bans NGOs from taking foreign funds for political purposes or affecting the security, strategic, scientific or economic interest of the State. The Church-organised Kudankulam protest was purely political.

Popular concerns over the power of NGOs, however, stem from their staggering funding, dubious agendas including religious conversion, and untrammelled powers to interfere in domestic matters. Data available with the Union Home Ministry, as reported first by The Pioneer, shows that in the nine years between 2001 and 2010, NGOs received more than Rs 70,000 crores. The highest donors were the US, Germany and Britain, and the most significant recipients include Gospel For Asia Inc, USA (Rs. 232.71 crore), Fundacion Vicente Ferrer, Barcelona, Spain (Rs.228.60 crore) and World Vision Global Centre, USA (Rs.197.62 crore).

Analysis of the data shows that the greatest sums out of the foreign contributions were utilized for establishment expenses (Rs. 1482.58 crore), followed by rural development (Rs. 944.30 crore), welfare of children (Rs. 742.42 crore), construction and maintenance of school/college (Rs.630.78 crore) and grant of stipend/ scholarship/ assistance in cash and kind to poor/deserving children (Rs. 454.70 crore). Note the diminishing values!

Now, if 50% to 70% of the funds of any organisation are spent on establishment expenses such as buying land, buildings, jeeps, office infrastructure, mobiles, laptops, cameras, salaries, consultancy fees, honorarium, and foreign travel, should such expenditure be tax-free when there is no public beneficiary?

Huge sums are expended on conversions, which also cannot be designated as ‘charity’ or ‘public service’. World Vision in particular has an exclusive Christian identity, as attested to by its own website, where it admits that while 20% of its worldwide staff belongs to other faiths, all prospective staff are expected to affirm their Christian faith in writing! This was after firing some staff in America for changing their religious affiliations.

In the light of these experiences, many Indians feel that the country does not need foreign aid to improve the lot of its citizens, and that all social service activities can be meaningfully conducted with local donations. As India herself provides considerable assistance to other Asian and African nations, there is no merit in accepting foreign funding on the pretext of charity, and then using the same for conversions or politics.

Earlier the Foreign funded NGOs have been doing it clandestinely. Now armed with UPA support they carry out conversions with impunity. These are the organisations out to destabilise our country triggering social unrest.Obviously we dont need them. Banish the missionaries. Thanks for the timely alert.

I believe "World Vision" is US govt front... There would not be a single Christian associated with that organization. The other NGOs you have mentioned are primarily J-controlled and persuing their objective of global hegemony. Their base, as you should know, is that tiny sovereign city state called "the City of London" which rules its colonies such as the United Kingdom, United States, Russia, China, and Australia. It was, and probably still IS India's ruler.

Why not deport permanently all the allegedly 'poor -starving-dispossessed-malnourished -denied education' Indian masses escorted by congress , leftists , ndtv , shekar gupta , cnn-ibn crew , dmk , dk to America , UK & Italy ? They need not travel all the way to India with aid. These can be clothes , fed & uplifted within those countries. As they are all anti Vedic traitors.

Let America , UK & Italy get first hand taste of their credentials. This is the only effective solution. Not writing articles. Hindus can get along well with Jews , China & Arabs . And non evengelicals among Westerners of this world.

How does India provide donations to others ? Not from Sonia Gandhi & DMK's loot.

But by looting HINDU TEMPLES . Hindus in addition pay tax also. Everything gets wasted on our inimicals WITHIN & WITHOUT.

Today Pranab Mukherjee has written off a huge amount of debt to Bangladesh. WHY ? When Tamil Nadu & Paschim Banga ask for more automony & financial aid the same congress is unfairly miserly.

Hence let foreign aid pour in. Let all of it go into Hindu Temples. Let there be total transparency. Who has the pluck to put a stop to churches & mosques proliferation within India ?

Where are Christians, in Europe, USA, Canada, and..? In UK, church properties had to be sold because people had no more faith, church lost clients and business shut down. Many Diocese in major US cities had to sell church affiliated properties, assets, because of child-sex, sexual abuse lawsuits and insurers refused to insure churches.
In our recorded history (last 400 years), the occidental west has been unable to produce even a single example of someone who followed The Holy Bible. Fransisco Pizzaro's gang slaughtered 15,000 guest-friendly Inca Indians after they surrendered. These missionaries targeted the social codes of American Indians, once they learnt their weaknesses, they massacred them.
Why to go so far? An outsider (dish washer) has climbed the ladder to the top (National Advisory Council outside Indian constitution) in India because this person is surrounded by 'coconuts' (Indian faces but inside...) who sold her social codes, Indian hospitality.
India's case is special: Communism failed all over the world, but in India, communists call the shots. There are many who come to India to do missionary work. They come because they cannot find a job in their home country, and in India they kick around Indians, live like kings, princesses.

The pope during his visit to New Delhi stated that the mission of the Vatican is to bring India under the Bible by 2025 and to bring whole Asia under Jesus by 2050! They are working overtime funded by countries like Germany, UK and USA. In USA all the income – billions – of Christian hospitals are tax exempted. These people did not flinch an eye when they had to pay almost a billion dollars to children who were sexually abused in USA. Imagine how many thousands were abused all over the world. Their voices would never be heard. The world population is around seven billion and Muslims and Hindus are more than 1.25 billion in strength. Buddhists including China are almost 2 billion. Why the Vatican wants to convert the whole world to its faith unless to re-establish a kind of colonization? They are not only waging a religious war quietly, but also destroying all the old civilizations, cultures, langauges and what not. When the educated get awakened to this menace, these dirty tricks can stop.

Census 2011 shows Hindus at 85% and Christians as 2.5% but in fact Christians are 20% and above as most of Christians who converted from Hinduism in past 8years after Sonia came to power in tribal belts and some pockets in cities converted either by force, money, allurement, treatment, schooling and by jobs in Government. Slowly, India slowly converting into a Christian nation. Hindus now 65% and by 2019 would be in a minority

In many parts of the west, Christianity is in decline as people are staying away from religion. The church therefore needs new gullible converts, therefore its zeal in India and elsewhere. Sonia and Digvijay are facilitating their agenda.

NGOs carry western agenda. Their sole motif is to create hue and cry and to attract international media. A group of nations has taken responsibility to poke noses deep into internal matters by developing framed concerns. Protecting masses is an excuse but they have to satisfy their long term plans. NGOs make the poor their target and hold ground by spending lavishly. Gradually, they start working by providing base to low local voices to be vociferous. We have seen the modus operandi in Tamil Nadu where the simple mock exercises in Kundankulam had been projected as the permanent evacuation and a precarious restlessness was created to an extent of state-centre strained relations.
There is a sequential progression developing anti-government opinion; creating environment in siphoning of mineral wealth; theological colouring and belief conversion; sabotage of existing religious schools of thought; rise of dera-occultism is also an expression of NGOs hard work in motivating vote banks on western interests.
In populous country like India, where 121 crore people struggle more to maintain their identities than making both ends meet, NGOs have an unending role in the cut throat struggle for the survival of the fittest.

In this context I have immense respect for the Sword of Islam. I read Honourable Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia has called for demolition of all churches in Islamic countries.

The missionaries are extremely dangerous. That is the reason for its waning popularity in the West. The predecessor of Ratzinger asked his footsoldiers to " plant the cross in Asia & harvest souls". When catholics were converted by protestants the same Pope called them "rapacious wolves". I personally attended one such evangelising meet. They impress everyone by giving sumptuous food & some videos of their "charities". Some Africans were asked to sing their praises full of Jesus Christ did this did that. When asked about various divisions the organizer told me bluntly :-

" While evengelising we all join hands ".

A lot of Chinese students have been converted. It is chilling how they collect information covertly. I being the only Tamil speaking vegetarian they had vegetable spring rolls & tamil bible stacked in the table.

They are not at all intimidated by sparse people in their churches. They would go to any lengths. They have already groomed so many Indians within India. Sporting bindhi , flowers in hair , mangalsutra including some Iyengars ! Who are but christians. Two maids in Tamil Nadu told me how they were targetted. By being whisked away in auto , money thrust in their hands & INTIMIDATED into praying christian style ( do christ japa). The maids were going through some problem. One of them (N)had her husband snatched away by a paramour. The other(S) was starving. Including her family.

N told me :-

" Whether I get my husband back or not I am NOT giving up my Lord Muruga to become a christian".

S was dropped home very late in the night & her husband was very angry. Who told her:-

" There is no harm in dying from starvation. But we are NOT relinquishing our God to embrace christianity ".

Thank God Tamil Nadu has Annadhanam in almost all Hindu Temples. S & her family are well to do & well fed today. I was happy to see her with kumkum & Vibhuthi.

Considering that the QUEEN of India today is of foreign origin, and that conversion of Hindus in India today is not only tolerated but actively encouraged, it is futile to want the foreign NGO's to go away. Consider the recent announcement by the U.P. government that they will give 30,000 rupees to every Muslim girl who passes grade ten and registers for grade eleven. This is an open invitation to poor Hindu girls (and their parents) to convert to Islam. Hindus in U.P. should challenge this rule in the Supreme court of India. But happy days are here again, when to be a Hindu in India has become a thing of shame. Wake up, Hindus of India. This is the only country you have. And remember, if you cannot defend your home, it is not your home.

USA is the ocean of criminals, criminal minded people who wants other countries to fail and only USA to improve. USA imports all educated brains from India. THIS makes India a brainless and failed labour force. Imported brains in USA work for USA, pay taxes for USA and then support these NGO's who work to degrade, pull down India through remaining brainless people in INDIA.

It is very important to note that the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 1976 – to ensure that parliamentary institutions, political associations and academic and other voluntary organizations & individuals working in the important areas of national life may function in a manner consistent with the values of a sovereign democratic republic, and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto - enacted by Parliament (during Emergency) prohibits a candidate for election, correspondent, columnist, cartoonist, editor, owner, printer or publisher of a registered newspaper, judge, government servant or employee of any corporation, member of any legislature and political party or office bearer thereof from accepting foreign contribution or hospitality.

THIS ACT & IT'S PREAMBLE HAS SINCE BEEN AMENDED WITHOUT ANY PROTEST FROM OPPOSITION.

The purpose of such enactment was to ensure that there was no foreign influence/interference in our political affairs.

If political parties and candidates are not to be influenced by foreign views and thinking via foreign money and hospitality, how could a political candidate or political party be led by a person of foreign origin?

Even charitable organizations receiving foreign donations are required to give an undertaking that the organization shall not use the funds of the society to print and publish a registered newspaper in any capacity whatsoever. This undertaking ensures that foreigners through such organizations are not able to indirectly influence or interfere in the political affairs of our nation.

Sandhya ji u have written a book evangelical intrusion a case study on north east. I narate a first hand account of conditions of hindus migrated to north east. I recently employed a domestic helper, she came to me in dfecember she had two kids both good in studies. She worked for 10 years in dimapur, nagaland, she told me there entire villages are converted to christanity, the method is to convert first the head of village n then the whole village follows, same tactics is being used in AP and other places in india . She told me though she stayed for 10 yrs no ration card was iissued there, heavy taxes are imposed on celebration of durga puja and taxes are proportionate to the size of idols placed. This has reduced over the years durga puja celebrations to a few, During christamas time it is mandatory for hindu shopkeepers to white wash their shops else face the consequences. She was told umpteen times that in a year there are 12 months n u hindus clebrates 13 festivals in a year, seeing her problems mmany told her to get converted to christanity all her problems will be solved. Her husband has abandoned her n married other women, father dos not helped her, but amidst all struggles she kept her faith alive in Goddess durga, she came to vizag with one clothes knew nobody. Tell me a hindu organisation who will help her in getting her kids educated, who will listen to many hindu women like her, where is the support by any organisation, be govt or any. She tells me clearly even if i die i will not convert. the story is long but sooner or later we all have to face the same situation in india if we dont wake up.Today bcoz of the help by us n few noble hindus her kids are going to good schools n doing fairly well. But we as hindus require dedicated organisation n schools to address such social/financial problems. The weakness/crisis are cashed by these missionaries if u are not mentally strong

@Rashmi ,

It is our very Indian government that is responsible for evengelisations. Hindu organizations have no government support . The constitution has to be amended.

In Kolkata there was (maybe he is still alive)one psychiatrist called Majumdar running Tara Polyclinic overbusy bombarding all with toxic psychiatric drugs. He was a donator to Mother Teresa's missionaries of charity. His psychiatric medicines caused my brother's sudden death.

Our own Kaanchi Mahaperiyavar says :-

" There is nothing called psychiatric diseases. It is the psychiatrists who require treatment..."

Some Americans have also boldly exposed this dangerous branch called psychiatry.

This article has come out "Timely" .Though there have been
"groups" which are funded and guided by Powerful/Rich countries to play ïmportant" roles in many decisions the respective governnments take in the host countries. Many, being simpletons, fall in to the trap and create organisations for this purpose.Initially everything will be "Noble" and high sounding but the "Grip" tightens and the people will be struggling in a quick sand.
Thousands of such low profile and high profile units work in India and we are not in a position to know who are benevolent and who are not. The penetration is DEEP and influence wielded is like Octopus Reach. Right from orphanages to organising massive demonstrations to implanting "moles" in political parties and Government Organisations they are Omnipotent and Omniiscent.Who Will "BELL"the Cat.
