RSS-BJP prepare ground for Kashmir Autonomy
by Hari Om on 22 Aug 2010 54 Comments

Don’t trust the respective leadership of the RSS and the BJP when they aver that they are committed to the national cause in Jammu & Kashmir. They are not committed to anything they say publicly. The overt and covert activities suggest that the Parivar is contemplating a major mischief to hit the Indian nation below the belt and negate all that the nation has done in Jammu & Kashmir all these 63 years to integrate it into India.

The RSS-BJP has not only given up its original agenda and the ideology it appeared to profess until 1998 when it formed a rag-tag conglomerate to execute a political coup in Delhi, but has decided to tread a path leading inevitably to the separation of Kashmir from India. In fact, it is preparing the ground for Kashmir Autonomy – a small step short of complete independence – to facilitate the Congress-led regime’s desire to strike a deal with the Kashmiri separatists, whose single-point agenda is to dismember India and establish in the state what Syed Ali Shah Geelani calls “Nizam-e-Mustafa” (Islamic rule).

Under American pressure to which its leadership is particularly susceptible, the BJP-RSS seems to have agreed to help out the Congress to push through the highly controversial Nuclear Liability Bill in the ongoing Monsoon Session of Parliament. The objective is to keep the American administration in good humour for reasons not difficult to fathom. It will also enable the under-American-pressure Congress-led UPA Government to grant what the Kashmiri separatists want, so that the Obama administration is able to help Pakistan establish its control over turbulent Afghanistan, the legendary ‘graveyard of empires.’

The BJP and the Congress are now working in tandem and complementing each others’ efforts. Clearly, these efforts are calculated to (1) befriend US President Barrack Hussain Obama and promote American interests in the region, (2) facilitate a truce with Pakistan over Indian Jammu & Kashmir, (3) create conditions to ease tensions on the international border and Line of Actual Control between India and Pakistan, and (4) enable Islamabad to send more Islamic warriors – Taliban and Al-Qaeda style – to its western border to play nefarious games in Afghanistan and force India to quit this country though it is vital to Indian geo-political interests and national safety and security.

That BJP is contemplating a major mischief is a statement of fact, easily verifiable. And for this there is no need to revisit Colombo, March 1999, when then Indian Foreign Minister Jaswant Singh, right hand man to Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, met his Pakistani counterpart Sartaj Aziz and agreed to grant “maximum possible autonomy to Kashmir and its adjoining areas”, divide Jammu province along Chenab River on communal lines, and render the Line of Actual Control irrelevant for all practical purposes. This was more than eleven years ago. It was the immediate fall-out of the growing and baneful American influence.

Now look at what BJP has been doing since January this year, from the platform of the Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee Foundation (DSPMF). The party seems to have charged Tarun Vijay, a “great” RSS ideologue and former editor of Panchjanya, and now a Rajya Sabha MP, with the responsibility to prepare the ground for Kashmir’s independence/autonomy without any regard to the vital interests of the non-Muslim minorities in the State, including Hindus, Buddhists, Kashmiri Hindus and Sikhs, who comprise a population of nearly 4.5 million.

Tarun Vijay launched his pro-Kashmir Autonomy crusade on January 19, 2010, a day that is annually observed by Kashmiri Hindus as Holocaust Day. This year, on that significant date, he organized a discussion on Jammu & Kashmir on the platform of the Syama Prasad Mookerjee Foundation, and invited as a speaker, Ms Madhu Kishwar, editor of the defunct Manushi and fellow, Centre for the Study of Developing Societies. Kishwar is a well-known protagonist of self-rule for the state. Tarun Vijay invited her because she had previously invited him to a seminar she organised in Teen Murti Bhavan on November 7, 2009, where the famed terrorist Yasin Malik participated! She later sent a detailed report to the Government of India suggesting self-rule (semi-independence) for Kashmir as the only viable solution to the “Kashmir problem.”

As the Syama Prasad Mookerjee Foundation is RSS-controlled, and Tarun Vijay is its Director – and was even then a contender for the Rajya Sabha from Uttarakhand, as attested by the fact that the Chief Minister attended this function though he was not listed among the invitees – the invitation to Kishwar sent a clear message that the supposedly pro-Hindu fraternity was willing to help the fundamentalist and regressive forces in Kashmir achieve what they could not in all these years since the State’s accession to India. Kishwar was allowed to speak despite hectic behind the scenes efforts to dis-invite her, and a noisy protest when she rose to speak. Such is the state of nationalism in the Parivar today.

Not content with the body blow to the national cause in Jammu & Kashmir on January 19, Tarun Vijay went ahead and organised a seminar in Srinagar on June 23, ostensibly to recall the contribution of Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee, founder president of the Jana Sangh, who laid down his life for the national cause in Kashmir on June 23, 1953. It may appear ludicrous and unbelievable, but it is a fact that none of the seminarians, including Tarun Vijay, talked about Mookerjee and Kashmir!

Everyone talked about China, Pakistan and Afghanistan. That Kashmir and Mookerjee were ignored was another clear indication that the BJP was slowly but surely creating conditions conducive to the segregation of Jammu & Kashmir from India. The message from the seminar was that China, not Pakistan, was India’s number one enemy (a George Fernandes plant that has been brought hook, line and sinker, by the Parivar).

It is hardly necessary to reflect on the implications of what the seminarians said about China, which, of course, is a powerful rival, but not necessarily an enemy nation. The idea was to promote the American-inspired propaganda that India faces a two-front situation and that New Delhi should divert its attention from Islamabad and towards Beijing, though it is Pakistan that has been bleeding India and seeking its dismemberment since October 1947.

Gadkari-Sushma lead anti-India crusade

On August 17-18, the RSS-BJP combine surpassed itself when the Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee Foundation organised a discussion at the India International Centre (venue of the infamous Aman ki Asha initiative openly derided by the Armed forces) to virtually identify themselves with the extremists and protagonists of independence for Jammu & Kashmir.

Organised by the indefatigable Tarun Vijay, the programme began with a minute’s silence in the memory of all the “innocent people, including the security personnel, killed in Kashmir.” Tarun Vijay thus made it loud and clear at the very outset that those killed in Kashmir in the recent clashes with security personnel were all “innocents.” He sweetened this bitter pill by also acknowledging the deaths of security personnel at the hands of these vicious, rented, and unrelenting mobs.

And who were the participants? Mainly rabidly anti-India Kashmiri separatists; including Siddiq Wahid, Vice-Chancellor of the Islamic University, Kashmir. Tarun Vijay rigorously excluded Jammu and Ladakh; perhaps he felt that the representatives from these regions would defeat his evil designs.

We learn that the participants included representatives of the youthful stone-throwers of the Valley, and the BJP was represented by its national president Nitin Gadkari, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj, so-called think-tank director Balbir Punj, and the new glamour-intellectual poster girl Smriti Irani.

With some effort, BJP managed to get four to five displaced Kashmiri Hindu boys and girls to attend. But these were those who on August 7 participated in the Kashmiri separatist-sponsored anti-India dharna at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi, where pro-independence slogans were raised. One of the slogans was: “We want Azadi; Azadi means Islamic rule.” In other words, they were ‘rented’ Hindus.

It is reported that Tarun Vijay shamelessly described the seminar “as a historic ice-breaking moment” and hailed the participants from Kashmir, mostly from the Islamic University, as “brilliant, power-packed with views, pursuing their Master’s and PhDs in various subjects, including journalism, engineering, MBA and science.”

Siddiq Wahid, who, along with Amitabh Mattoo, has been openly pouring venom on India and participating in the anti-India PUGWASH-sponsored seminars and conferences, described the IIC interaction between Kashmiri separatists and BJP leaders as “unprecedented and the most useful interaction ever held.” And why not? After all, he and his team of Kashmiri separatists, who are part and parcel of the ongoing “Go India Go” movement in Kashmir, had found in Gadkari, Sushma, Punj, Vijay and Irani, patrons who could help them achieve freedom from the “fearful and terrorist India;” while DSPMF was a good platform from which to conduct anti-India operations.

Apparently, Smriti Irani, who knows nothing about Jammu & Kashmir, assured the Kashmiri separatists of BJP’s unstinted support. She gave a categorical commitment that she and others of her ilk would reach out to the Kashmiri youth (read dreaded separatists) in a manner no one had reached out to them so far. And all this on the platform named after Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee, who gave his life for one country, one flag, one constitution. Can there be a greater irony, a greater historical injustice?

As for the Kashmiri separatists, 56 in number, most of them students, they condemned India and the security forces and demanded independence saying “India in Kashmir represents fear and terror; when the word India comes to a Kashmiri’s mind, a common Kashmiri, what comes in his mind is a soldier with a gun in his hand; (and) fear and terror is all what a common Kashmiri feels.” In an interesting if unintended self-exposure, Tarun Vijay, in a blog he writes for the Times of India (Aug. 18), revealed that some participants – Rakhshanda, Lubna, Afsana, Nazeer, had “just returned from a 20-year stint in the US.” Obviously, these were the real controllers and agent provocateurs in the meeting, and they had come straight from Uncle Sam’s Cabin!!!

In this vein, the Stone Pelters Inc. poured venom on India in the presence of Nitin Gadkari. And this venerable, instead of walking out of the hall and expelling Tarun Vijay from the party for organising such a patently anti-national activity, asked the separatists “why don’t they speak what they want to speak in a free and frank atmosphere?” He, like Tarun Vijay, appeared very pleased with the interventions of these Kashmiri fanatics. No one from the BJP told the fanatics that they their demand for secession was high treason, and that whatever was happening in Kashmir was nothing but a naked manifestation of their communal approach to Jammu & Kashmir.

The Kashmiri student separatists were delighted at this captive audience. Hailing Sushma Swaraj for the platform and kind hearing given to them on the subject of Azadi, they told a national audience via television - “Why doesn’t New Delhi follow Sushma Swaraj?” They gave this generous certificate because Home Minister P. Chidambaram had told them to stop the stone pelting before he would listen to their grievances; but Sushma Swaraj encouraged them to speak freely of Azadi – so what if it amounted to secession and treason?

It would be premature to say how far the stone pelters will go with their agenda. But BJP has come a long way from the days when its leaders would give up their lives in the service of the nation.

What is going on in BJP has been clear when Jaswant Singh went to Kandhar with the tererorists treating them like State Guests. The whole Vajpayee - Musharraf plan if it had not been ex[osed was to sell India and give further imputus to the secessionists in Kashmir Valley.
The writer, has rightly said that BJP_ RSS has come a long way when they were commited to the nation.
In the name of Mukherjee who wanted to unite India BJP has set on dismembering India.
But looks that the enemy is from within Who gives them the mandate to sell India to these rouges and terrorists. Sushma Swaraj, Gadkari and the rest should be expelled and action should be taken for furthering the secessionist agenda.

This is a cause of concern to one and all. The actions of BJP and RSS in the State of Jammu and Kashmir are quite questionable and now even in New Delhi. The truth is that this party with a difference does not even know the meaning of sovereignty and territorial integrity.
This macabre dance heading towards holding these talks and discussions is to dilute the sovereignty of the country at the hands opf Islamic terrorists.
People like Sushma Swaraj, Gadkari, drama actor Smriti Irani, Tarun Vijay and many others have sold there soul to Islamic Jihadi's and are destroying what Shama Prasad Mukherjee wanted: ek nishan ek pradhan ek samvidhan_ Ek BHarat!

The true face of BJP RSS on Hindus, Hindu affairs and the unity of the Nation. Prof Hari Om has rightly explained the real reaon.
BJP's act is nothing less than treason - with the country, with the people of Jammu and kashmir, with the Hindus in particular and treason to the unity of Indian Nation.
And if there were any Kashmiri Pandits or Hindus affirming the agenda and dealing a blow to the Nations unity, they too should be considered dhimmis of the Islamic Jihadis.
The real designs to dismember the country as Stated every now and then by Pakistan are being truly forwarded and realised by Jinnah loving BJP RSS. Hindus need to ponder and give all these a fitting burial

While in complete agreement with Prof Hari Om about Shri Tarun Vijay's towering ambitions to play at Track II winning-hearts-and-minds of the jihadis, and the BJP leadership's total indifference to Hindu sensibilites on any issue, I am surprised that Prof Hari Om has hyphenated the RSS with the BJP. For good reasons we cannot dismiss the RSS as an anti-national organization with a sweeping stroke of the pen. I am also surprised at Prof Hari Om's "All that the nation has done in J&K all these 63 years to integrate it into India". Factually wrong Sir. There has been no attempt to integerate the state into the nation. The jihadi state has a separate constitution; this constitution has not conferred equal rights on all its inhabitants and this jihaid state has integerated only minimally with the Indian constitution and that thru the instrument of Article 370. Jihadis being jiahdis they have never integrated themselves with the Hindu nation. So Prof. Hari Om's sweeping statement that the RSS will undermine integrating efforts of 63 years and his statement that the RSS will hit the nation below the belt is not just bad judgment, it is actually a political helpline for the Congress which alone is responsible for the mess that this state is today. I am with Prof Hari Om for the BJP's attempts to play at politics of minority-ism but would caution him not to throw the parent with the baby and the bathwater.

@Radha Rajan - please recall the article by Ajaat Jamwal (27 Jan 2010, vijayvaani) - which exposed the fact that the RSS prant pracharak Arun Kumar went to Nagrota camp of Kashmiri Hindu migrants and told them to get ready for second kurbani and be bakras and go back to Valley for pretended rapprochement with Islamists, so that the current mischief could be taken to logical conclusion. KPs did not agree, then or now, and so now the RSS BJP combine is going ahead with the Jinnah ko Pakistan do movement on their own. RSS has shown duplicity in dealings with Hindus many times since the forced exodus of Hindus from the Valley.

The writer has correctly brought out the fact that Tarun Vijay is playing a carefully thought out game by party leadership. Quietly calling stone-throwing thugs from Kashmir with jholawallahs from JNU, buying up some sarkari Kashmiri Hindus, and excluding all critical voices. Clearly Tarun was given Rajya Sabha for a purpose.

Tarun Vijay in his bakwas blog in Times Online said they went to some Masjid for namaz, and then went to Akshardham for sight seeing, did namaz again and broke Ramadan fast in temple. Can Akshardham Swamis – who do not look at women – explain how another religion could do religious rites in a Hindu temple – or is Akshardham only a Museum for white Christian tourists and Muslims can use it like a picnic ground? With religious leaders like this, what can one expect from politicians?

@Radha, I stopped going to Sangh Meetings, Shakhas, Programmes after September 14, 1990. I distanced myself from my family since that time too. I belong to a staunch RSS family, from both my father and mother's side. And understand what I am going to reveal. Send my your email ID and I can divulge the entire details. I august 1990, I was on an Andhra-Tamilnadu whirlwind tour garnering support for an ABVP programme - Chalo Lal Chowk. Under instructions from a very senior (No.2) leader of the RSS I was asked to stay put at Jhandewala for some deliberations. Manadal was at its peak. To my utter dismay and shock, the ABVP programme was downplayed and a new plan about Babri Ayodhya was taken up after a socialist stalwart and a very senior Cabinet Minister in VP Singh Government at the dead of the night wrapped in a thick blanket descended at Jhandewala. It happened by chance that I became a witness to the entire interaction between GF and BD. I get more and more convinced, after every passing year that the Organization and the Political Party that were nurtured by the sweat and blood of my family too, are somewhere on board a diabolical intrigue.

The sooner we understand the deceit and bare the devil in them, the sooner we shall work to create an alternative.

And for the information of you all, OTC trained RSS Swayamsevaks have been organising Election Campaigns of Mr. Lone in Kupwara. What is the connect? And these are not Ex-Swayamsevaks, but those who are working at the behests of senior RSS luminaries. A substantial amount of funds of Home-ministry were kept at their disposal. After some revelations from Ajaat, I was contacted by these elements and requested to go slow since it was not in "national interest" to make these expose. They also tried to convince me that because of their efforts a great majority of Youth in Kashmir would soon launch a pro-India Struggle and would be demonstrating on streets. That was in January 2010. I wonder if the efforts of these Swayamsevaks have really worked in creating the Great Kashmiri Intifada in the form of Stone-pelting youths, whose leadership is being now entertained in Delhi by the BJP leadership? Dear Radha Rajan Ji I an understand your concern over my assessment about RSS. But what I have written is a fact. The very fact that no action has been taken against Tarun Vijay, who has been carrying on activities particularly since January 2009, which according to you also, are not conducive to the unity and integrity of India, does indicate that he not only enjoys the support of some to BJP leaders, but he also enjoys support of certain elements in the RSS. ## RSS has to make its stand public on the activities of Tarun Vijay failing which it shall presumed that both the RSS and BJP are working unison and that they have asked Tarun prepare the ground for Kashmir's autonomy/independence. I am not a supporter of the Congess policies towards the state. In fact, I am a bitter critic. You know it. But it is fact that it was Congress, which had earlier bungled in 1949 by incorporating separatist and communal Article 370 in the Indian Constitution, that between 1953 and 1990 extended hundreds of Central laws to the state. It extended 260 out of 395 Articles of the Indian Constitution. It extended 94 out of the 97 entries in the Union List. It applied 26 out of 47 entries in the concurrent list. Besides, it applied 7 out of the 12 Schedules of the Indian Constitution. Not just this, the Congress in 1965 replaced the nomenclatures of Sadar-e-Riyasat and Wazir-e-Azam with the nomenclatures of Governor and Chief Minister, respectively, to bring the state at par with other states of the Union. It also abolished the permit system. As for the BJP, which ruled India between 1998 and May 2004, it did not extend even a single Central law. On the contrary, it dropped the demand for the abrogation of Article 370. Just look at the 2008 election manifesto under which the party contested the Assembly elections in J&K. The BJP is the political organ of the RSS. Whatever BJP does, it does in consultation with RSS. That RSS has lost its moorings could be seen from the manner in which L K Advani became the Prime Ministerial candidate, the manner in which the supporter of Afzal Guru, acccused in the Parliament terror attack case, entered the Rajya Sabha on the BJP ticket, and the manner in which Jaswant Singh was taken back by the party, notwithstanding his public statement that he stood by what he wrote in his book on Jinnah, leave alone Tarun Vijay. I do hope Ms Radha Rajan will consider all these facts. Everyone would be pleased with her if she could make the RSS leadership not to tread the dangerous path through Tarun Vijay.

Let us all go back to the immediate aftermath of the 2009 general elections. BJP stalwarts were hanging their heads in the shame of defeat and RSS came to the fore. All Hindu nationalists expected some concrete action including the sidelining of Mr.L.K.Advani and his coterie. The RSS Chief Mr.Mohan Bagwath waxed eloquent in all broadcasts. He brought in Mr.Nitin Gadkari, who was touted as a no-nonsense man. But, Mr.Advani and his coterie remain as powerful as ever. Mr.Mohan Bagwath said the famous statement “Terror has no religion” and Mr.Gadkari followed it with another glorious statement, “We focus on 10% Muslim votes”. Now the likes of Mr.Tarun Vijay, Ms.Sushma Swaraj and Mr.Arun Jaitley are running the show and Mr.Gadkari simply joins them. Mr.Mohan Bagwath, from whom the Hindu nationalists expected a lot, is not to be seen or heard at all! Professor Hari’s article has clearly exposed the RSS-BJP. Forget about BJP, it is really sad to see the situation of a great organization like RSS. It is a classic example of how the actions of a few Self-centered individuals would spoil an organization. There is no point in trying to differentiate between RSS and BJP, for the whole country knows that the BJP cannot do anything without the consent of RSS. RSS-BJP is like Sonia-Manmohan. Manmohan cannot do anything without getting the approval of Sonia or without informing her. But, Sonia can do anything without the consent of Manmohan or without even informing him. Similarly RSS can do! If at all some of the former RSS ideologues are worried about the organization, it is the right time for them to step in and set things right, for Congress has started losing ground heavily and Hindu Samaj cannot afford to rely on the likes of above-mentioned characters.

Sikhs in the Kashmir Valley have received anonymous letters from Islamic militants asking them to either embrace Islam and join the protests against civilian killings or pack up and leave the Valley. The 60,000-strong Sikh community is the single largest minority group in the Valley.

An organisation of Kashmiri Sikhs said that several community members have received these letters. "Community members have received unsigned letters at various places," said All Party Sikh Coordination Committee (ASCC) coordinator Jagmohan Singh Raina. He said the community has decided to stay put and fight these "evil designs" at a meeting in Srinagar on Thursday.

Raina quoted a letter as saying: "When you are enjoying the joys here, why can't you share the grief and sorrow of Kashmiris as well? We know you are afraid of bullets... Hold protests inside gurdwaras or leave Kashmir." He added, "Some letters have asked Sikhs to embrace Islam."

Raina urged both factions of the Hurriyat, JKLF and PoK-based United Jihad Council to take serious note of the threats to maintain amity and brotherhood in the Valley.

Hardline separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani has reassured the Sikhs saying they shouldn't feel threatened and should ignore the "fake letters". He assured the community that nobody would force them to join the protests.

Earlier, Geelani has made an emotional appeal against forcing minorities to join the protests and said harming them would be like "inflicting a wound on his (Geelani's) body".

The state unit of Akali Dal (Badal) president Ajeet Singh Mastana described the threats as acts by anti-social elements. "The threats can't break us and reduce our love for our motherland," he said.

The ugly politicization of of the Pakistanis floods is like dancing around the dead. Delhi politicians and the Bharati media has once again taken the opportunity to behave like vultures on the misery of the flood victims.

In a recent new story the Times of India tied the threat assessment in Pakistan to the floods, and made it sound like Pakistan was faking it.

The venom against Pakistan in the Indian press knows no bounds. Even during one of the worst calamities of the world, the Bharati press is projecting a vile message to the world about Pakistan. This negativity definitely has hampered aid to Pakistan–and cost Pakistani lives.

When the chips are down, one discovers who the enemies are.

We, Roots In Kashmir, along with other Kashmiri Pandit groups including Panun Kashmir, Kashmiri Samiti Delhi etc. organised protest against separatist propaganda at Jantar Mantar on 7th and 8th of August. This may be counter checked with news reports from The Times of India, The Hindu, The Asian Age, Dainik Jagran, PTI etc. No Kashmiri Pandit young boys or girls paricipated in the demonstration of extremist separatists at Jantar Mantar. This is wrong information or at best a rumour; which needs to be immediately corrected here. Lets not mislead the facts.

Kashmiri Pandits also participated, in individual capacities, at the two day seminar at IIC organised by Dr. Syama Prasad Mookherjee Foundation. This was important, as we had to counter the mindless brigade of separatist speakers who spoke against brave Indian Army and India as a whole. We blasted their theory of Aazadi.

This was again visible on CNN-IBN show FACE THE NATION, where we made it clear that in Kashmir there has been a call of Nizam-e-Mustafa, which we totally reject. They want an Islamic state and give the call for the same through Mosques. We also made it clear that Jantar Mantar recently reviberated with communal slogans of Aazadi, which we countered.

We again made this clear on the show with Arnab Goswami on Times Now where we cornered Sajad Lone.

I think all this puts rumours to rest.

We have affiliation with no political party and our sole aim is to counter separatist propaganda and demand rights for Kashmiri Pandits living in exile for last 21 years due to Islamic Terrorism in the valley. Jammu and Ladakh are equal partners in our struggle of identity and space in J&K.

J&K is an integral part of India. There is no compromise on it. Any individual or organization working on a set pattern or negotiating J&K is dividing the country as a whole. They are anti-national forces.

I hope Dr. Hari Om and the website owner will take note of the mistake and make due corrections.

thanks

As i member of KAshmiri Pandit fraternity and a member of Roots in Kashmir, i strongly condemn and disagree with a misleading part of Article, where it is written that " With some effort, BJP managed to get four to five displaced Kashmiri Hindu boys and girls to attend. But these were those who on August 7 participated in the Kashmiri separatist-sponsored anti-India dharna at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi, where pro-independence slogans were raised. One of the slogans was: “We want Azadi; Azadi means Islamic rule.” In other words, they were ‘rented’ Hindus." We at Roots In Kashmir, have strongly protested against Separtist and Stone Pelting , Brainwashed youth of Kashmir. We have even intiated a Peace Book Campaign, which has around 1800 registered Members worldwide. I, in my personal capacity, as a member of Roots In Kashmir, and Proud Kashmiri Pandit Fraternity want an immediate apology and removal of these lines from this article, which is otherwise a very well written one.

I request Dr. Hari Hom and the Webmaster of this website to immediately remove it, and give us an explaination on the same.

Though it's beyond doubts that BJP has diluted its ideology to a larger extent so much so that it's hard to differentiate its agenda from that of other so called secular parties, yet the esteemed author of this article shouldn't have a jaundiced view while expressing the facts. Prejudice paralyzes our viewpoints and that prejudice has clearly shadowed the write up.
BJP failed in initiating a single honest effort for integration of J&K with rest of the country while it had been in power, yet it's hard to digest that it's facilitating congress and separatists in establishing "Nizam-e-Mustafa". Same goes for his views on unnecessarily pointing out fingers at Kashmiri Hindus for raising anti-Indian slogans. Let us all remind that they are the one who are the victims of this turmoil and still withstood every test and to malign them without any authenticity is deplorable. Hope the clarification is provided here after ascertaining the truth by Prof Hari Om.

I second the view of Aditya in the previous post. I wish the author had verified what transpired on 7th and 8th August when kashmiri pandit bravehearts vehemently protested the Azadi slogans of separatists at Jantar Mantar.

After reading http://author.toiblogs.com/indus-calling/entry/kashmir-s-azadi-with-the it is hard to believe that RSS and BJP are involved in the sinister design of truncating our motherland.

Voices of strife-torn Kashmir echo in Delhi

NEW DELHI: A protest at Jantar Mantar on the violence in Kashmir took an ugly turn when Muslims from the state and Kashmiri Pandits exchanged heated words and one group charged at the other accusing them of "anti-national" activities. It took prompt police action to prevent the situation from turning any worse. More than 25 Kashmiri Pandits were detained.

Earlier, the two groups refused to sit with each other even though they had assembled for a common cause. Both groups addressed the urgent need for peace in Kashmir and bemoaned the number of deaths in the last few weeks. While the Kashmiri Pandits expressed the loss of identity and representation afforded to them, the Kashmiri Muslims expressed pain and regret over the number of lives lost in `mindless firing' at civilian protests. The Muslim group kept urging the Pandits to sit together but the latter refused.

"Deshdrohi jaao,'' came the cry from the group of Kashmiri Pandit protesters. They claimed the `other' group was separatist and they did not care for the "azadi'' that they were demanding.

Said activist Aditya Raj Kaul, "A small section of Kashmiri Muslims want a separate nation. They are using women and young children in this movement, and want Kashmir to be a mess. They want the administration to fail, the infrastructure to fall apart and create total chaos and make it an international issue. Peace cannot be achieved with separatists on the table. Bring in the Sikhs, the Gujjars, Shias, Dogras, Buddhists, Pandits and let all of us decide what Kashmir wants. Theirs is not a secular movement."

Meanwhile, Kashmiri Muslims claimed that they wanted to include all Kashmiris in the struggle. Said activist Ishfaq, "They are our brothers. We want a peaceful Kashmir and the atrocities that the Indian Armed Forces are committing against innocent civilians must be stopped. We are crying, but nobody is looking.''

Prof.Hari Om has brought to the fore the great tragedy of the Indian nation where every effort is being made to wreck the sovereignty of the nation by subversion from within. The way the political developments and initiatives are being undertaken by the Indian political establishment are indicative of the political consensus being attempted to accommodate the secessionist aspirations by creating the political situation at the national level that will ultimately lead to the exclusion of the J&K state from the domains of the Indian union.

History is witness to the role played by the Congress since its inception towards the state of Jammu &Kashmir. What havoc it brought to the hapless minorities of the state and how it lead to the demographic change of this state engulfed by the ethno religious conflict. The denial mode of the Congress led governments and their policies are well documented in the annals of the history.
Now the role played by the BJP-RSS is raising alarm bells among the nationalists who are watching with eagle’s eye, how the Parivar is flirting with the separatists and and azadiwallas .It is a shock and at the same time alarming as far the national policy towards this state is concerned. What has prompted even the BJP-RSS to fall in line to give an impression that the separatist voice will be accommodated in the national discourse?
One can guess that there is some sort of understanding between the Indian political establishment across the political spectrum to give credence to this. So that some sort of market is created for the acceptance of a sort state within the state type status for J&K,which will be the first step towards the dissolution of the northern frontiers of India starting from this state. This is a kind of political consensus that is being imposed on the gullible Indian masses who do not know that the problem in this state is not just political as some people are suggesting ,it is more than that –it is a purely religious problem. The secessionist movement in the valley is purely religious that seeks to connect this state with pan Islamic movement meant to establish the Muslim ummah .
What one is amazed to see is that-is the Indian state so gullible that it cannot differentiate between secessionist religious movement based on majoritarian hegemony and the secular aspirations.

One thing should be crystal clear that is the ethnic cleansing and genocide of the Kashmiri Pandits is the worst form of human rights violation that has taken place in the history as it has happened in the Independent India and not pre independence India. It raises serious question about the kind of secularism prevalent in India which claims that it is a democratic and secular country. Are nationalistic and peaceful people subjected to the kind of treatment to which kashmiri pandits were subjected –refugees in their own state and own country/why is it taking decades for the nation to bring back the original people back to their homeland where they have more than 5000 year old histoty, culture and heritage? Why are the people who are in majority in Kashmir and converts from the present minority community of Kashmiri pandits taken more seriously even if they are asking separation from motherland India?
Has India as nation lost the sense of history? The religion that made its advent by 14th century in Kashmir and changed the demography by converting the kashmiri pandits by persecution and force is considered the starting point of Kashmir‘s evolution. Why are the people –kashmiri pandits whose history is well beyond 14th century taken as non entities ?The nation will have to answer these questions in all seriousness as kashmiri pandit is the civilisational anchor of the Sanskrit civilization of India .It is the kashmiri pandit who sankritised the Himalayas and the northern frontiers of India. It is the Kashmiri pandit who has the first right to seek answers from the Indian political establishment as to why the northern frontier is being demolished in J&K by seeking refuge in autonomy and series of machinations to speed the desanskritisation of the Himalayas in J&K.
Aaditya Raj Kaul has done well to dispel the canard that is being spread against the Kashmiri pandits.
The behind the scene ploys for the Desanskritisation of the Himalayas in J&K by pondering over autonomy, self rule, demilitarlisation etc. etc will dismember the Indian nation. The nations which give ideological concessions are in fact on the path ,which ultimately leads to the giving territorial concessions.Unfortunately,Indian political establishment is treading on the same path to balkanize and dismember the Indian nation. That is why one is forced to say that the Indian state is in conflict with the Indian nation and hence Indian civilizations. Will the Indian nation wake up from the slumber and save the vivisection of the motherland Bharat???????????????????

the truth of understanding the BJP RSS has left many a reader agast and zapped. but that is the truth. Who gave the BJP mandate to discuss azadi with Kashmiri Muslims as declared on national television. And these few Kashmiri Pandits also have no mandate to discuss this in a closed door AC auditorium of IIC.
Now it leaves me very dejected and a culprit because of loose and irrelevant talk by the likes of Aditya Raj Kaul on TV. His parents forgot to tell him his culture and ethinicity. Indian and Hindus in particular should forgive him. This is in reference to Aditya calling Muslims and anti nationals - my brothers and same gene and blood.
Kashmiri Pandits and I being one of them say it loud and clear that we have nothing in common to Kashmiri Muslims.
what kind of suffering of Muslims where these misguided Hindu Pandit children talking of ??/ what kind of atrocities????

@Aditya Raj Kaul and others - Tarun Vijay wrote a blog on Times of India Online on 18 August 2010, which has been partly quoted by Prof Hari Om. He clearly mentioned that Nitin Gadkari asked them (SPM Foundation) to invite the youth of Kashmir for dialogue, which included the vice-chancellor of Islamic University, Prof Siddiq Wahid. It was called a historic ice-breaking moment. Did you call any Hindu-centric Prof from any Indian University? Why not some eminent Hindu scholar from Jammu or Ladakh? The meeting was very hush hush and disreputable. ## The Muslim stone pelting youth were then taken to meet the Home Minister P Chidambaram and later to Akshardham temple, given a boat ride and invited to end the "roza" there, when it could have been done at Hazrat Nizamuddin Chishti dargah. What were you guys doing there – fooling us with your pretended dialogue and pretended opposition to Azadi? You do roza in a Hindu temple!!! Shame

Regarding Aditya, calling Muslim Sepratists our brothers, why does it digest to you, Every Human being is a related to each other, either as a son of Manu or Adam. Hope you know who are they.

Kashmiri Pandits and Kashmiri Muslims have a lot in Common, and we believe both have suffered, though we have lost on our homes and Homeland.

There was so much love and understanding with the stone throwers in Delhi, and the immediate impact was felt in Srinagar where the ONLY Jain temple in the Valley was destroyed utterly. The priest just managed to save the three precious Murtis and his own life. There is a larger political game plan in BJP leaders like Sushma Swaraj and Gadkari suddenly meeting the jihadi students in Delhi, even taking them to the Home Minister. The Hindu students - so called - who formed part of the crowd can only be called Useful Idiots. Since a friend of mine was personally called by Tarun Vijay to help get the Hindu part of the crowd, I feel it was not wrong to call them 'rented'. There is just no good reason why they should have been there - if they are really the same people who were thrown out of the Valley 2 decades ago!

@Yaminiji: - yes we dont have it as a duty so what shall we start watching voting percentage on news channel only. Going down vote share of BJP is not because BJP ditched them on Ram Mandir or Haj Quota issue its all because we Hindus ditched BJP, in 1996 the party which had 196 seats in parliament how can it be brought down in 2 years to 160. Why Hindus didn't not keep patient for 2 years and when it came to vote they voted for congress or remained at home watching pathetic condition of BJP. I am sure you too dont have considered it as your duty and might have remained at home.

Very simple question I will put it to you will Hindu vote for BJP in Bihar, so that it will go alone in Bihar poll, answer is NO? I hope you have answer for this.

We should not forget Hindu even ditched Modi n 2009 Lok Sabah election where BJP got only 15 seats. While VHP opposed BJP is that election for what reason VHP has to oppose BJP in Gujarat just because road side temple was encroachment on whose order it was carried that also VHP didn't bother to find out and passed diktat. Same VHP and RSS dont know that there fate lies in BJP the day BJP goes below 100 it will the end of VHP and RSS day. I think RSS and VHP knows it very well.

I can say only one think if we still have to trust BJP as Pro-Hindu party if not then it is like allowing congress to rule this country and give away every thing to Pakistan and Quotas to minority.

@S Vikram: -
I was expecting some one to raise Modi's name. Now you have only information which was spread by some of the columnist who tried to spoil Modi's name as you are doing it here.
I stay in Ahmadabad and I have read local regional paper, Times OF India and news channel and monitored closely Modi's movement on this, where it was mentioned Sanjay Dutt came to Ahmadabad to promote Shopping Mall and during his return he just went and met Modi with out his prior appointment and even Modi never invited him to invest in Gujarat when already Shatrugan Sinha, Paresh Raval and Anupam Kher has shown interests then there is no reason why Sanjay Dutt is required. Anupam Kher's teaching institute is already functioning.
Even Modi never praised this move by Sanjay Dutt as a big investment in state. For this Amar Singh wrote "Modi is a sweet whom we cant love to eat nor we can ignore completely."
Now coming to another die hard Modi hater Suhel Sheth he too came to Ahmadabad for some reason on returning he directly went to his house and met him here also he never took appointment and Modi met him so.
Ajay Devagn came to Ahmadabad for his movie promotion Rajneeti and there also he too met Modi after movie promotion in this case only Ajay Devagan had prior appointment with him. He too showed interest in investing in Solar Energy.

@S Vikram: - You all are talking of Modi's meeting with Sanjay Dutt but same you don't praise Anupam Khers institute, Ajay Devgan's investment in Solar Energy why?

Giving green card to illegal Bangladeshi is what I never read nor heard from any of the BJP leaders. Let me add to this after math of 2002 riots in Gujarat several small and big relief camp has come up in Ahmadabad where majority of migrants are Illegal Bangladeshi when police tried to detain them Gujarat High Court Judge who hails from Bihar Justice Mukopadya asked state govt to give them 2 Lakh Rs as compensation and send them. So what you want to say on this our tax money for illegal migrant.?Now any one can easily identify that they are Bangladeshi, Muslims in Gujarat speak Hindi and Gujarati but this people speak Bangla language and one can see them across city. Thanks to Harsh Mander (Ex-IAS Officer) and self styled saint in form of Human Rights and NGO's to bring them into Gujarat.

Now let me tell you who told you people that BJP govt in Gujarat helped Hindus during 2002 riots it is wrong train was burnt on 26th February and 28th Morning RAF carried out Flag March so there was full pledge attempt to stop riots by govt but all was it is Hindus anger which went out of control Hindus did not asked for any help what they did is they took revenge by them selves. But still we vote for Modi just because he refused to say Sorry or never regretted for what we Hindus did.

In Kashmir it is seen that people want some or the political parties to come to their support Why? It is almost asking reservation for small section of community by black mailing them.

I would ask Kashmiri Hindus approach Yuvraj-Rahul Baba for help. After all his great grand father was kashmiri Pandit so he can assist in sending you people back to valley as Omar is the good friend of Yuvraaj.

Even dont worry it is going to happen just before 2014 election when congress nominates Yuvraaj as PM candidates. We wont be surprised when you people will vote for congress.

The write up of Hari Om is a critique and an expose of BJP RSS's inapt handling of situation. It is very timely like the other write-ups of Shailendra Aima and Ajaat Jamwal. What is the issue that Aditya Raj Kaul is trying to highlight. He says that those KP boys and girls who attended the meet in IIC to facilitate the stone-throwers of Kashmir should not be called "hired agents" and that Hari Om should take note of this and make necessary corrections. In my opinion Aditya has unnecessarily taken up thgis issue for now he is also being called upon to explain why he called the stone-pelters or Azaadiwalas as his "brothers and sisters and same gene and blood". I have a small peace of advice to all KPs on this thread. The more you exchange on the issue more worms shall come out. Aditya is quite young and must understand what is right and what is wrong. Some years ago, RIK also had organized meetings with Hurriat leadership in Jammu and otherwise. There have been statements by Aditya and his friends which have created enough controversy. The Kashmiri Muslims are themselves to blame.for their plight. Why on earth did they in the first place cross into PoK, got guns and training and came back with a slogan of "Azadi" ##
The Pakistani Jihadi groups have been trying to infiltrate into the Valley as far back as the 1965 war and about 3000 of them were chased away across the then Cease-fire line by none other than the Kashmiris. This time they invited them and called them "Mehman Mujahids" and got kicked in the teeth as more Kashmiri Muslims were killed in the twenty years of the so called uprising than any other community. When they did not succeed, they then were kicked in their stomachs by attacking the tourists to the Valley trying to dry up the Kashmir's lucrative tourists trade. ## This beating of handful of Muslims in North Kashmir is a small trade risk in the big business of Azadi through terrorism.

Hello Sir, Your article is good. I understand your intention that this will help RSS/BJP/Tarun to make their stand clear to the people who believe in them. It will help them realize the mistake they are doing, if any. But I seriously have one objection about this article that this will again confuse the people and is dangerous for Hindu unity. For last one year, people are realizing the mess that Congress has created. People are definitely changing their opinion and surely they will look at BJP as an alternate option. But if you such blunt articles, they will go back....( Ofcouse, that does not mean you should not raise the red flag...) As a part good family, we should resolve the fight internally rather than brining it in open. Your articles and opinions that people will create after that will indirectly help Congress. If we look back in the history, we did the same thing. We fought among ourselves and hence we were ruled and looted for 700 years. Isnt that enough? I will put the request on Tarun's blog to clarify his stand on your article.
Intellectuals like you, Radha Rajan, Chandan Mitra, Swapan Das, Kanchan Gupta,Sandhya Jain and many more should come together and create the positive force which will take the country in right direction. We are not talking about individual leaders in BJP, senior or junior. We are talking about the BJP Policy on Jammu and Kashmir. Those who advocate an ambivalent and ambiguous stand on Jammu and Kashmir run its Policy cell on the state. The game seems to be to reiterate the BJP traditional line publicly and at the same time indulge in engagements which are contrary to it. Keep ur cadres in abject complacency and in a state of inertia and at the same time send signals to separatist echlons in the state and Pakistan that BJP is more accomodative than the Congress. The BJP engagement with azadiwallahs recently was high profile and nobody could miss its import. That they got them airlifted and then arranged their meeting with the Home Minister of India is not a casual affair. BJP's ideograph is in direct conflict with its Kashmir policy. The import of the conflict is critical for the BJP as a national alternative. The import for the nation is more critical because BJP is gradually ceasing to be an Opposition particularly on issues concerning the Jammu and Kashmir state.
